So cm is working good for you, and if not is there any good Roms available? I really like the slider shortcuts on the CM lock screen, so I'll probably just stick with CM. Right now i am using 12/13 nightly CM11 and it has been running very well. I was never able to use 5GHz with the milestone I tried. The nightly seem more stable than the stable or milestone versions usually, but one gave me 5GHz wifi problems. Pacman I didn't really like so i can't speak much for its stability.ĬM11 can be hit or miss.
It was also the only ROM that identified the carrier as Cricket instead of AT&T. The 4.4.4 kitkat GPE ROM was stable with the exception of breaking a music streaming app I use (subsonic). Just out of curiosity, was the GPE ROM you tried the Lollipop one? Also, are there any roms for this phone that work well and stable in your experience? But if you just want to root and use TWRP to backup it works fine!

Also, it takes a bit of work to install as you have to remove the asserts line from each ROM before installing.
I've been trying various CM builds, the Google Play Edition ROM and PACMAN, but they all seem to have issues (5GHz WiFi, one app or another not working properly, notification glitches). I have an SGH-i337z on Cricket and I was able to root and install TWRP using hroark13's method () Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

Built in kk hotspot worked just fine.Īio galaxy s4 root and recovery? I337z So I have another galaxy s4 in the house and it's code name is jflteaio i337z but the thing is the model number is the same as crickets galaxy s4 so dose that mean I could root it and download twrp recovery for it in the name of the Cricket model? Sent from my LG-D800 running stock kk, rooted with philz using XDA appįYI, Flashed slimkat over the weekend. Well since you mentioned kk 24a I thought you were talking about stock, in the case of aosp based roms like cm/pa/aokp I can't give an exact answer it could be like how some aosp apps don't work on stock, it might not work with aosp but I cannot give definitive answer Still unsure if hotspot needs some variation of lg stock or not in order to work. I'm wondering if it will work along the lines of cm11 or slimkat. Thanks for your response but the link you provided is for stock variation of lg kitkat. If you flash a custom rom you have to wipe system which means your modded hotspot will be deleted and you will have to re-install it and yes there is a working hotspot for vzw kit kat you can either download the hotspot here or you8 can check out one of the vzw kk roms which includes it already like this one My question is, if I flash a customer rom, will the modded hotspot still work? Not sure if the modded hotspot only works on stock or not. I've been keeping up with the modded hotpot thread, and understand that modded hotspot works on kitkat (24a) as well. Currently on 4.2.2 (12a) rooted and running modded hotspot APK.
